1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

I'm wearing Lumière Blanche today. What would happen if you layered both of them?

MPeG Eau des Iles today. Definitely smoke, incense, and funk at the beginning. Rough start. Some florals came out once it softened, but I'm not getting the coffee smell everyone else seems to get.

Today: Oud Attar I bought from Indian Gifts Portal for twelve bucks. It starts out with a cherry cola smell and then dries down into a lovely oud incense that reminds me of the incense I got from Kobe, Japan. Such a fantastic deal this stuff is.

Atelier Ambre Nue tonight. I not sure I would have noticed this if I hadn't worn them a couple of days apart, but there are definitely a lot of similarities between this and Batucada.

I just tried the new mens Bottega Veneta fragrance for men. Its very leathery and woody. I love it.

La Fleur du Male is this morning's sample. Sweet and soapy it is. Not sure I'm going to like this in an hour or so.

Yes, I do like it. Since it was the forerunner to the oud craze that's still in full steam, you might think it's merely a sketch of the better, more complex scents that followed. (Sort of like Coty Chypre in relation to Mitsouko, etc.) But that's not the case at all. M7 is a rich, complex oud that absolutely stands on its own. It's got some of that medicinal oud feel, but there are also some dirty, animalic and sweet, balmy facets. (I am wearing the original M7, and not the new M7 Oud Absolu. I haven't tried the latter.)

My pre-shower scent today is Eau Particuliere by Diptyque. I haven't decided on my SOTD yet, but I promise to inform you all when the time is right.

EDIT: Okay, I guess there's a reason they call me "Man of Moss Breches" it's because I'm wearing Moss Breches.

Hardly any projection today, so I applied some Allure pour Homme Édition Blanche in the afternoon.

O'Driu Re de Spade sample today. Has anybody tried this? I'm no good at identifying individual notes, and there is no material anywhere as to what O'Driu claim is in it. The best I can manage to describe it is fuel oil with a whiff of something green, which is gradually coming through.
