Just got my decant of TF Tobacco Vanille, which I'm sure is old hat for most of you all but wow. I can't believe I'm saying this... but I can't wait for it to get cool out.

In the meantime... Diptyque - Philosykos.

Yes!!!! It feels great in the hand and the "wick" sprayer tube is a nod to their history as candle makers. Lastly, I have a soft spot for magnetic caps.

Thanks for reminding me. Today: Antaeus.

Same here. In fact, yesterday was Pour Monsieur.

Yep, me too. That, plus Mugler Pure Havane.

Speaking of Antaeus, I wore Kiss Him as my pre-shower scent. (Kiss Him is a more refined, more gentlemanly take on Antaeus.) (I'm just kidding about the last part, BTW.)

SOTD: HdP Petroleum. I remember Dopey (I think) posted here about this a few months ago. I decided I had to give it a try. It's a sharp oud and leather scent, but it really does smell like petroleum. I'm not a fan so far, but it hasn't gone through the whole drydown yet.

EDIT: I like Petroleum a lot more once it dries down a bit and the petroleum note becomes less strong. It becomes a pleasant ambery leather, but a touch of the sharp petroleum note remains. It's not something I'll wear much, but it is quite interesting. I think there's a good chance that HORNS and Baron would like it, and maybe Thomas.

True story: I had to do a little work under the hood of my car today, and there were times where I literally wasn't sure if what I was smelling was my car or my fragrance.

I'm waiting on a decant of the same. In the meantime, I am getting by on the generous samples that Saks gives out (4ml). I am alternating between this and my Tuscan Leather sample. I am going to need to find a split for that now.

Tea for Two today. I enjoyed it, but it really works best in cooler, overcast setting.

And for the evening, Bond No. 9 - New York Oud. Very pleasant, calming rose with a touch of oud. Pretty great, not for everyday, but sometimes just the right juice.

Anyways, I wanted to thank the whole lot of active contributors to this thread. Without you, I probably would never have started to get more into the world of scents (or at least not for quite some time). And I would definitely have missed out on one of the great pleasures of life -- smelling. Good perfume can really brighten your day, support you, and make you (and hopefully the ones surrounding you) happy. I've done my best to spread the knowledge (which can get a little difficult among people my age, even more so among males), but I've already guided my parents into appreciating scents. My father now owns 15 samples (TF, Lalique, Chanel, ...) whereas before he "just" owned Fahrenheit in the past. He wants more. ;)
    Thank you!

The STC sale continues throughout September.. I think I'll have to take a closer look later today.

Is there still a good source for TFPB Moss Breches, Purple Patchouli and Amber Aboslute? I need some small (10 ml or so) not overly expensive decants.. most importantly for AA.

Not to get too corny or anything, but this hobby has been a great source of happiness for me too. I still get butterflies when I know a bunch of samples is coming in the mail! And it's wonderful to have people to talk to who are equally fascinated by the world of fragrances.

If you're looking for 8-15 ml decants of those, I'd suggest The Perfumed Court. They've still got prices on TFPB decants of that size that beat their rivals. And they've still got the discontinued ones, last I checked at least.

Pre-shower: 2nd Cumming. Not at all like it's reputation, IMO. Once you get past the opening, it's quite sophisticated. It's very coniferous, but it's also got a pronounced boozy note that gets stronger as the scent dries down. It's also very earthy, in the literal sense that it smells somewhat like dirt. To my nose, it's very masculine.

SOTD: Jonquille de Nuit. I was very impressed with Cafe Rose, so I went ahead and ordered samples of the other three new Private Blends. This one is a very heady, creamy, and rich floral bouquet. I'm pretty sure I'm getting a strong dose of freesia here. There's also something that reminds me of gardenia, but I don't think it is that. I think it's too creamy for my taste, so I don't expect that this will be a regular in my rotation.

You guys should really see what they've got going on down here. There is a fragrance knockoff store on every street. The mexicans seem obsessed with fragrance, which is odd, since many of them stink to high hell.

8ml are 44$ at STC and 67$ at TPC (15ml at STC for 74$)!! Was just hoping there was an even cheaper option out there. There's some on eBay for 30€//10ml. Will have too search a little more.

I wear Calvin Klein - Red Classic vintage parfum at the moment. It's pretty good!
