Tf champaca absolute today. This one seems to have more depth than the average private blend number. I like it so far. Tried tobacco vanille yesterday, was disappointed as I was hoping for the deep rich tobacco of c-men, which tv doesn't really have to my nose.

If you can get hold of Mugler's A*Men Pure Havane, it's more pungent, heavier on the patchouli, and utterly fantastic. I think it's only on-line these days, though.

So I've decided that I really love L'Artisan Al Oudh, and I'm considering buying a full bottle. But I've got a concern that I almost never have: wearability. I wouldn't want a full bottle of something I'd only wear for myself. Anybody have any thoughts about the contexts in which you'd wear this comfortably? I'd also be interested in your thoughts about Oud 27. I wore that out shopping last night and actually felt self-conscious, which is rare for me.

SOTD: Moss Breches. I've always thought this would have fit comfortably in the Serge Lutens lineup.

You tell yourself, "Imma Honey Badger, and Honey Badgers don't give a shit." Repeat.

This is probably why Thomas wore Knize Ten to the office on Saturday, knowing that he can be all funkified without any collateral damage.

    Today: Habit Rouge

I have this irrational aversion to Mugler products due to the hideous bottle designs (looks like his products would be exclusively utilized by hirsute Greek clubbers with shirts half-unbuttoned and non-ironic Elvis sunglasses), but I think I'll have to try this.

Tried some Neroli Portofino after the gym today. It's not something I'd normally wear, but it's largely inoffensive. Meh.

Received three compliments wearing Aventus last week and yesterday.

I got my 30ml decant of Guerlain: Tonka Imperiale which I have been awaiting eagerly the past weeks. Half an hour in, the initial penicillin(?)-blast is gone. Sweet, but not overbearingly or cloying. I Have a cold though, so I might get another impression in a few days.

Never tried this one, but Tonka and I don't mesh. For a long time, I had no idea, but I realized finally that the trend in scents I didn't like was a pronounced tonka base.

D'orsay Ettiquette Bleu for me today...

^^ You should have worn Guerlain Eau de Cologne du Coq. Or maybe you did?
