It's rainy and cold so I might go with Comme des Garcons: Kyoto today.
I'll come by a parfumérie today that stocks Amouage and will try Gold Woman.
He's got some nice ones. Ambre Sultan is very sweet and only works on cold, overcast fall/winter days or in the evening for me. Have you tried Chergui and Muscs Koublai Khan? They're both great.
Today: Terre d'Hermes.
Ditto. Perfect for this humidity.
ELDO Bijou Romantique. I wasn't completely sold on this last time I reported it as my SOTD. I think I am now.
Gold Woman. Great! Similar to Gold Man. Not sure which I prefer.
Also realized today that I actually don't have AdP Colonia Assoluta, but Colonia Intensa. So I got two samples from the AdP SA. Quite happy with it because I rarely ask for samples.
Do you get the Chanel No. 5 vibe from Gold?
If you mean the urinal cake vibe, no. I have to admit though that the last time I wore N° 5, I appreciated it more.
Edit: But yeah, I see some similarities. I prefer Amouage's though. I think the for Man has better longevity though.
I haven't tried Gold Man yet, but I did notice that the longevity in the feminine was a little less than I was hoping for. Especially for that kind of money.
Yeah, I think every other Amouage I had so far has better longevity.
Debated on TdH for the same reason today, but instead reached for my almost-finished bottle of Cool Water.
By the way, has anybody here tried Cartier's niche line?
Finishing up a 50ml of no. 19.
Colleague going to Iran for the summer holidays; she's going to bring me back some Galbanum essence (the real stuff). Can't wait to stink so good with the premium shit.
Wanted to order a sample from STC but eventually it was too expensive.
My mother tried the newest Vol de Nuit edt yesterday. Yuck. I have the vintage parfum and there's such a big difference. VdN edt just accentuates one (group of) note(s), and that one very prominently -- smells artificial and not good. In the vintage parfum however, that (group of) note(s) is blended in more rich and deep notes. The edt nearly disappeared after two hours. I am very disappoint.
