My wife slept on the couch because I sprayed on too much Bois de Iles yesterday evening.
Really?! That's surprising - normally I find it feminine and unassuming.
Today: CDG2Man. I seldom wear this and I know why, but it's dry enough to handle summer.
She hates perfume.
@HORNS: Wow, it seems like Bois des Iles should be impossible to hate. Also, I've got some Chanel No. 18 on the way. I'm looking forward to trying it.
Pre-shower: Tauer Maroc pour Elle. I appreciate Tauer's scents a lot, but I've never understood the appeal of this one. I still don't.
SOTD: Lorenzo Villoresi Musk.
Mixed some moss breches with greyland today, kinda interesting
I'm not wearing any perfume today.
Wrapped up Bond no.9 - Brooklyn.
Going to be a "no" for me after a few wearings. The grapefruity note at the beginning is pungent, and then the earthiness afterwards dissipates too quickly to be worth it.
no rosey skin scent for me?
or maybe i was to specific ?
(tomorrow i ll stop by mall and ask clerk for his advice(which is usually a terrible idea)
It's my penance for my stinkin' up the bed last night.
I don't remember what you were exactly looking for, but I found Hermèssence - Rose Ikebana to be realitvely close to the skin (but then again most are, at least to my nose...). And really good for summer. I'd suggest trying/sampling a couple. Either go to a store and get samples there (apparently that's easy in the US) or order from Surrender to Chance or The Perfumed Court.
Today Le Labo - Santal 33. No fan. Patchouli blast.
And Amouage - Salalah Green. Very nice. Drydown was very Hermès-y today, something like an oriental mix of Osmanthe Yunnan and Voyage d'H.
Knize Ten, again.
b1os is right: Rose Ikebana sounds like a very good match. It's definitely not too feminine, it sits close to the skin, and it's not powdery.
Another one to try is Prada Infusion de Rose. I just tried this for the first time quite recently, but I think it also meets your criteria very well.
Rossy de Palma by Etat Libre d'Orange is also worth a try, though it might be harder for you to find in a store.
I imagine a lot of people would say Le Labo Rose 31. It's very popular among perfumistas. I have to say that I find it much more of a peppery and woody scent than a rose scent, but it's definitely quite masculine. It also has a bit more projection than the others I recommended.
EDIT: Oh yeah, I forgot one of my favorites: Diptyque Eau Rose.
Also agree completely with Thomas below about Dark Rose.
Rose and me don't get along so well. Good luck, though.
Actually, the closest I come to rose is Chanel Egoiste. That's about it.
Hang on a moment, hit up Czech & Speake for their sample set, gratis (iirc). They do three rose scents: No. 88, Rose, and Dark Rose. Dark Rose is, IMHO, the best of the lot.
