Tuscany today. This is one of the ones I wear when I want to be serious, or at least seem so.

Guerlain Vetiver old stock. For some strange reason it's really really satisfying today - more so than usual.

if I own current Guerlain Vetiver, and Sycomore, is there any point in getting Vintage Guerlain Vetiver?

today, L'eau D'Issey. yeah yeah I know, but it's easy to put on and walk out the house wearing...

Bois 1920 La Vaniglia. I haven't been this enthusiastic about a fragrance since I first tried L'Air du Desert Marocain. It's really amazing.

Chanel Bois des Iles EdT today. Creamy floral opening, rests to an oriental coconut on a weak ambery base. Longevity about 2 hours.

Vintage Guerlain Vetiver isn't vastly different, but it's different important ways, like the difference between vintage and new Chanel PM. The old stuff is dirtier and develops in more interesting ways over time. To me its worth it, especially because I've always been able to find the vintage stuff for around $50 - $60. If it cost $200 I wouldn't bother (I probably wouldn't buy the new stuff either.)

Is this a new version of it, or a new bottle? I haven't had a bottle in a number of years, but "weak" and "poor longevity" were not parts of the equation I remember. I hope that they haven't screwed with it immensely... along with Cuir de Russie, it's one of Chanel's old-school gems.

Balmain de Balmain for some meetings today.
