Went sampling around the mall today and after smelling some boring and standard frags, I came across a Bloomingdales that carried Antaeus and I must say it was the best thing I've tried in awhile. I can see why Thomas likes it so much. It even impressed Ms Tinto. Will acquire.

Yesterday was Guerlain Vetiver, day before Tom Ford Grey Vetiver. I think I prefer the latter of the two.

Another convert. Soon the WORLD will smell of Antaeus!!!!!

    MUAHAHAHAH.

    ...

Today, strangely enough, I pulled a small decant of Goutal Ambre Fetische. It's quite nice in an herbal-amber way.

Annick Goutal Eau d'hadrien. A creamy, surprisingly deep citrus scent. A little too sweet (now I remember why I never, ever wear it), but it was a surprise I forgot I had in a box in the back of the closet.

That was the same with me: a surprise I'd forgotten I had.

BTW: you probably had it a while: word on the street is that the reformulation was not at all kind to it.

Ormonde Jayne Zizan today - Is there frankincense in this? It sure as hell smells like it. Very potent.

This is my favorite of the three men's frags at the moment. I like incense-y stuff though.

Today, Burning Leaves layered with a touch of Guerlain SDV.

Montale Oud Cuir Arabie. I like this one quite a bit, but not quite enough to spring for a full bottle.

Its nice but I don't know if its a keeper for me. Something about it is just too overpowering.

Today: Polo Double Black. Long story, but I'll share.

Actually, no I won't. I'll cut to the chase: I have a Sephora gift card, wandered in there and got a few samples. Double Black actually got some good press when it dropped, so I thought...I have these moniez on a card, let's see what's going on here. So I got a sample of this and Dior Homme Sport and left. I got busy at the house this morning and wound up not applying anything, so I rooted through the drawer at work, and this is the sample that came up. There ya go.

    You should edit this post!

Don't you know that this is an expensive fragrance only thread?! Polo Double Black???

    hahahahaha

I could have sworn someone mentioning they were looking for a coffee-ground-type coffee scent. IIRC, the drydown smells exactly of that. I used to have this but only liked the fruity opening, which doesn't last very long.

Wanted something light to bum around the house in, so I went with JV Artisan today.

Wore Moss Breches yesterday. Mmmm... Remembered when I got to rehearsal that we're never supposed to wear fragrances in orchestra. [IMG] Well, at least it was a nice fragrance!

Still the best overall house IMO.
