Chanel PM today. Still kind of mixed on this. Some days I think it smells fantastic, others its just sort of meh.

Oud 27 again. Don't think this works with my body chemistry. Almost all I get are the urine-y notes with a sort of 'barnyard' edge to it. The gf told me I should wear it when I'm around other women as she thinks it makes me smell like cleaning fluid.

    2. Balmain Monsieur -- 30 seconds of lemon hard candy I remember eating as a kid, followed by a less dirty (but equally dusty) Habit Rouge. Poor longetivity tho.

    3. PdN Baladin -- Clean & fresh masculine but with a grating soap note that slightly offputting.

    4. Aramis JHL -- A bold, resinous, sticky, failure of a dirty floral that's ultimately overpowering and passÃ[IMG].

    5. VC&A Eau de Tsar -- Mmmm.... Cool Water.

I put all of these into the sample box and I agree pretty much all of your assessments. I think that JHL might have turned as it's nothing like the descriptions I read and I like almost everything from Aramis.

Whoops, forgot to add that I've been wearing Mr. Blass the last two days. I read about this on a blog recently - aparently Michael Bastian was the creative director or Bill Blass a few years back and he designed an entire line and a cologne but the company went bankrupt before anything was released, but the cologne was manufactured before the bankruptcy. Now the fragrance is selling all over ebay from the resellers there and I picked up a large bottle very cheap. It's a bold 80's style leather chypre (not all that leathery but it's there), and after the rather harsh citrus opening it dries down into a very nice scent. The dry down reminds me a lot of Guerlain Derby, though the openings of the two are not at all alike. Here's a link to the blog post: http://sartoriallyinclined.blogspot....r-bastian.html

Chanel Egoiste today. After a number of days where everything disappeared after a few hours, it's nice to have something again that lasts and lasts...and lasts.

How are you liking this? I wore the same shirt I had on last night, since I only wore it for a 2 hours, so I went with Chanel CM again to match up. I swear I got a lemon/sugar vibe tonight.

Technically a scent, but I have Galliano x Diptyque for my room, and I actually really like the aroma. I need to get some "wintery" candles/sprays for my room also.

Wore Terre d'Hermes today to turn in an ochem lab report.

Guerlain Aa Anisia Bella for a overcast day at the office. Really should have worn something else; this is a summer scent.

I like it so far. Kind of a one-dimensional, bitter smokiness which, after a (long) time, begins to show a hint of sweetness. edit: Looks like I'm allergic to this one! Bummer.

finally tried out L'Artisan Al'Oud today. I smell exactly like a middle eastern man who hasn't taken a shower in 6 days. Can't wait for the drydown!
