Today - a sample of Reminiscenses Patchouli Elixir. It's a smooth and luxurious Patchouli, considerably better than L'Artisan's Patchouli Patch, but similar in concept.

Prada Amber edp..... this is the next one on my "finish up!" list.

Finished Boudoir last week... down to about five bottles!

Christ Almighty, I can't recall the last time I finished a bottle of...anything. I have years-old samples that are still clinging to the herd, unfinished.

This might be heretical of me, but I have a few samples of Terre Hermes and am not impressed. Not very strong and nothing special.

Are you sure its the real deal? That stuff last for like a week, very strong, very distinctive. I am still figuring out when best to wear it, but I do love it.

Got antaeus, opium, and cuiron a couple of days ago. Antaeus is nice, cuiron also, but not as much as antaeus. And I may be ten, maybe twenty, years too late here, but YSL opium is such an amazing scent.

Wearing a sample of Montale Aoud Leather. I do not approve of this scent, as I generally detest the Montale line-up. This one has a strangely stale-nutty aspect to it.

Is Aoud Leather different from Aoud Cuir Arabie? I love that one and wore it a few days ago. I think the oud and leather mix well - I'd even say the oud overshadows the leather and makes it a more of an animalistic accent note. I just have a decant but I've contemplated shelling out for a full bottle.

What is the current thinking on Habit Rouge?

It's a classic but I'm not all that crazy about it. I think it's more dated that the other classic Guerlain scents. I prefer the Eau Legere version, which is harder to find but I think it's available on ebay.

Something else - I've always thought of Eau d'Hermes as the equivalent scent to Habit Rouge in the Hermes line. It's also a citrus/spice/leather scent, and I much prefer it to HR.

I like it, but it's definitely a throwback type of scent.

Now Baron's making me think hard about Eau d' Hermes.

Tested my PDN New York because I've read Baron endorsing it quite a few times. It's great.

The Chanel Antaeus continues to impress me. I want a bottle.

The Helmut Lang Cuiron - do not like. I don't know anything about chracterizing notes, but it's too acidic, floraly, not sweet enough.

I didn't like Cuiron either. I don't get the hubub on that one.
