I’ve been wearing aesop hwyl a lot recently…smells serene and really helps me feel centered. Maybe some sense memory of doing yoga in rooms that smell like hinoki?

Last night at a Halloween party, a female friend told me that I smelled really good and that what I was wearing should be my fall scent. I very rarely receive these types of compliments. The fragrance? PDM Layton. Maybe it does live up to the hype.

I'm going to one tonite...
And while I have Ombre Nomad on right now, maybe I'll throw on some Layton for the party, and see if this experiment is repeatable.

Scent of today - Penhaligons Halfeti.
I found a small 5ml bottle at the bottom of a basket, with a tiny amount left inside, so I used it up today. One female Youtube reviewer once said its so good it snaps knicker elastic. Unfortunately, I'll just have to take her word for it.

I bought full bottles of Penhaligon's Opus 1870 and Endymion the other day. Went with the latter today, and though longevity is weak, I can excuse it because I'm just a sucker for this scent profile. Such an elegant and graceful fragrance.

Santa Maria Novella Patchouli. Recent buy from their store in NYC.

While there I tried their Peau D’Espagne and realized I just don’t seem to like leather-based fragrances. This one started VERY strong and pungent but quickly became the same soapy smell I seem to find unpleasantly overwhelming in every leather fragrance.

Today’s fragrance: Penhaligons A Balm of Calm, a light fragrance from their new Potions & Remedies range. A bought this bottle, with my wife's approval (for once!) from the Penhaligons shop in the Perfumery, top floor of the Dubai Mall in the UAE.

If you ever get a chance to go to the Dubai Mall, the Perfumery is on the top floor, where a lot of the fragrance companies have their shops, not huge but nice and small and a lot are open fronted. Most of the Arabic fragrance shops, I'd never heard of before but they all looked interesting.
Warning, the temptation is too much and your wallet will be lightened.

Oh, I'm sure. I'm guessing it feels similar to shopping the perfume salon at Harrod's or for perfume in Paris.

Today is Guerlain Bois d'Armenie.
