I'm an Aoud fan as well. I wore Montale's Steam Aoud last night layered with Cambodian Aoud Oil a friend brought back for me on his recent travels. I can still smell it! My SoTD is: Bond No. 9's Brooklyn. [IMG]

    Kouros.

Everyone stand clear and let Kouros have some space...it *requires* it. [IMG]

heh, on me it's not all THAT pungent. Seemed appropriate for April 1.

What I like about it is that it's unapologetic. It's like Yes, of course I'm wearing cologne. No I don't mean to smell clean

Hi guys, I'm looking to buy a cologne for special occasion, nothing that's too musky or strong. But something that smells special when I wear it. Something clean, refreshing, but at the same time unforgetable and unmistakable. I'm sure my selection of colognes is laughable by the standards of the refined tastes in here. But I guess it's better than just wearing Axe body spray (I've never worn this). And as long as I like it and my girl likes it, I'm ok with that. I just ran out of a Lacoste cologne (don't know the model) and I now have a DKNY Red Delicious for Men as my day to day. I went to Neiman Marcus the other day and Yves Saint Laurent La Nuit De L'Homme, I thought it was very nice. Although to me this would be more of a night/special occasion scent. A mature scent to me... [IMG] A friend also gave me a sample of Chanel Allure Homme Sport I like it, although it seems more of a day to day staple scent that can be worn anywhere, to the beach, to dinner, special occasion. I thought it is nice. [IMG] I also smelled D&G Light blue and remembered liking it, quite powdery and light. More of a day scent for sure in my opinion. [IMG] Any recommendations are helpful...

^^ hmmm... generally speaking, clean and refreshing are not usually found with unforgettable and unmistakeable, but there are a few recs I can make:

Guerlain Vetiver (found at Sephora, or on-line for not too much lucre)
    Dior Eau Sauvage
Platinum Egoiste (kind of overplayed, harsh opening, give it time)
    Herrera for Men

Then there are a few more that are less clean but (IMHO) more memorable:
    Chanel Pour Monsieur
    Chanel Antaeus
    Azzaro Pour Homme
    Guerlain Jicky

Thanks for the recommendations! I will look into those.

Are Chanel colognes often considered long lasting? I used a tester of Allure Homme Sport on my wrist this morning and I can still smell it pretty well.

Pour Monsieur generally lasts well past lunchtime - Antaeus and PE generally are around for the drive home, but a bit of it depends on your chemistry.

Versace - Blue Jeans As generic and cheap as it may be, A) I quite like the smell B) It lasts forever, I can still smell it on my clothes and pillow days later, C) I can actually smell the scent changing a bit as I wear it. Any recommendations please based on what I already have and/or like? (below) - please, nothing overly expensive or so rare that i can't find it at a decent department store Versace Blue Jeans, JPG le male (a bit too soft) Boss Original? (silver cap, cylindrical clear bottle), Jupe Nightflight (a bit too sweet though) Some I don't have but have liked Terre D'Hermes Diesel Fuel for Life Davidoff Adventure TIA!!!

Today - Versace: The Dreamer. I plan on thoroughly savaging this when I review it.
