Pre-shower: Ombre de Hyacinth
SOTD: Shiseido White Rose. This is a super lush rose, livened up with ylang. As it dries down, it becomes quite musky. Here's how Chandler Burr described it: "White Rose will take your breath away. It is one of the most astonishingly beautiful perfumes I've ever encountered -- a luxurious, layered, delicate, luminous rose." I don't know that it's quite all that, but it's certainly worth a try for anyone who loves roses.

SOTD: Quorom (2013 version). Eh, I smell like my dad in the 80's (70's?). It's one of those aromatic fouger types a la Azzaro but greener and more mossy. Fine stuff but just smells dated, and also too old mannish on a 29 year old (moi)

SOTE is Sarrasins by Serge Lutens. It's my first time trying this. My very first impression was that it's the Tubereuse Criminelle of jasmines. It's pretty amazing, although I haven't made it all the way through the drydown yet.

Dunhill for Men today, classic scent that gets better every time I wear it. Smelled somewhat soapy the first few wears but now the leather really shines through. I would describe it as a combination of Aramis and Tobacco Vanille.

Exciting. Is it quite indolic? How do you compare it to Jasmin Rouge, which I think is more similar to the old Diptyque Olene than the current Olene.

Today: Santa Maria Novella Tabacco Toscano.

It is considerably more indolic than Jasmin Rouge for sure. (FWIW, I find Olene to be more indolic than JR.) You definitely need to try it; I am pretty confident you'll like it.

Pre-shower: Caron Or et Noir. This is an old school rose chypre. It's got a lush, velvety rose at the top, but it's also sharpened by a bit of geranium. As it dries down, it becomes quite mossy.
SOTD: L'Arte di Gucci. This is a bright green, aldehydic rose chypre. It actually reminds me a fair bit of Leonard de Leonard, accept that the latter is more powdery and sweeter (i.e., more girly).
