Today: Coeur de Vetiver Sacre

Picked up a great deal on Couer de Vetiver Sacre off fragrancenet or X, forgot which. 100ml with 20% off for like $55

Wearing New York, I have been wearing this most days for the past few weeks. Still my favorite.

For you PdN NY wearers, how does the current formulation compare to the vintage? I have a decant of one, probably vintage from 4-5 years ago. Looking to buy the current, is there a big difference. Or rather is the new one not very good?

Creed Royal Oud. And El Argentino, I've got a 3.4 oz. tester bottle of M7 (original  formula) I can sell you bud.

Hmmm might also be interested. Gotta retest my decant.

Let me know Master-Classter. My bottle is about 90% full. I'll give you a fair price if you are interested.

I got my Phoenicia samples yesterday. I put a drop of REALOUD on my hand last night - OMG it has the funkinest dirtiest opening I've ever smelled. Like, blue cheese/toe jam/rotting flesh dirty. It's pretty shocking. But it settles into something more grassy and sweet, with that strong medicinal woody oud backbone. It was very compelling, I couldn't stop smelling my hand. I also had a tiny amount applied - I can hardly imagine what it would be like to blast a couple sprays onto my chest, but I can see myself buying a bottle of this.

Today: L'Artisan Passage d'Enfer. A very transparent (dare I say, spectral?) lily and incense. Perfect for a warm January day!

That's a nice combination. Oriza Relique d'Amour is also incense + lily. Which I like.

To be fair, those top notes fade and are fighting for prominence with the oud from the beginning. It makes sense when you consider that oud is a fungus that grows in trees - it should have some rotten notes.

Wearing Far NW today. This is the one that supposedly has the skunk note but I'm not detecting it. This one also seemed to fade quickly but it's 88 degrees here and I've been outside all day so it may have just been defeated by the elements.

Yay for the weather - back to the low 20s for the weekend. Guerlain Vetiver today; I seem to be on a bit of a classics run.
Guerlain Vet is a year rounder for me. Wonderful in hot weather and cold.

I'm back to the iris scents today. this time its Atelier's Silver Iris. And its very good. Blends well the the cold root-y style of iris with the sweeter, floral style ( a la Nirmal and l'Eau d'Hiver). And adds a nutty sort of note to the blend.
