1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

IMO Creeds really bloom in the heat. In cold weather they really fall flat. I find body radiating heat makes them open up. And I'm not even a Creed fanboy, but when they work they really do work.

Gaultier Squared today I found this in an op shop yesterday; I had never heard of it before. It opens like a lolly shop and you have to like it sweet, but I don’t mind the amber/vanilla dry-down.

Sooo.... I have a new found fondness for Creed Aventus. However it will live in a summer box because cold weather does not treat it well. I remember it being rather sour in winter but now with temps up I am getting much more smokiness and sweet citrus.

I got my first compliment in a while on a scent today, but it was from a 50+ yo lady. It was for Amouage Jubilation xxv

Egoiste today for me too. Not sure about stewed fruit, but I do get a kind of cinnamon sugar vibe off this.

Hey I guess there's a reason I'm known around St. Louis as "Man of Rose Chyprée. (It is because of days like today when I am wearing Une Rose Chyprée.)

This evening I'm wearing Monsieur de Givenchy, a citrus (by way of lemon verbena) chypre that is quite similar to one of my favorites, Chanel Pour Monsieur, but with a greater oakmoss oomph. This chypre style of masculines is an old one and, to me, is the style that conveys an air of highest sophistication in the wearer, but it also means that it is most likely to be considered old-fashioned. I can definitely see that, but I'd encourage you guys to try some on whenever you get a chance, or to even snag a bottle if you see it in an estate sale because you already know what male style icons look like - you should also know what they smelled like.

Today I’m trialling Gold Leather, from an Atelier sample. I don’t mind this; it’s a mild leather scent, bit of booze, not too bad. Good longevity, but it doesn’t project much.

FM Dries van Noten today. I’m not a huge fan of vanilla on me (love it as a cooking smell), but this one is tempered a bit, and not too sweet. Lasted at least 12 hours. There’s a long list of FMs that I would consider buying at the right price, and this is one of them. (The only one I’ve actually bought was Geranium PM).
