Oddly enough, Sunshine (the fragrance by Amouage, I mean) is not all that bright. It's an almondy vanilla scent with a very prominent black currant. The black currant gives it a bit of a cough syrup vibe, at least at the top. (The bottle is yellow, though.)

That doesn't sound appealing at all.

I forget because I do too many drugs - have y'all tried Stephen Jones?

Is there any particular reason you wanted to smell like a circus?

Didn’t wear anything today, but I wore Noir de Noir when I went out to a bar in the evening. I smelled good and the beer was good too.

Today it is already warm outside, so I'm wearing Dior Granville. It has a powerfully sharp citrus beginning and then a clinical/medicinal evergreen and "thymol" heart. I didn't like this at first but it certainly has a place in my rotation for a light fragrance for warm weather.

Nombril Immense by ELDO. One of my four favorite patchoulis. (Coromandel, Patchouli Imperial, and George Sand are the others.)

I don't know man, I think L'Air du Desert Marocain's a pretty good choice too! I made it my SOTE because it's so good.

Unemployed, so I can wear what I like indoors. :)

I won a couple of Costume National roll-ons in a prize draw last week. Today I am wearing Pop. (No Pete, not that PoP). It’s not as fruity as I feared, but I still don’t think it’s my kind of fragrance.

Are there any solid (non-liquid) fragrances that you recommend? I've seen articles about a few of them but wanted to hear from others.

Diptyque has a few, namely Philosykos, but there's not many solid perfumes in general. There are, of course, lotions that are quite strong, but I'm sure you're looking for something in a wax base.

for perfume solids, yeah Diptyque is good. ByKilian has discontinued his but they should still be out there for sale.

Does Serge do solids? I thought it was only his samples that are those wax things

Oh. I figured since the samples are wax-based that they'd have regular-sized wax-based solid perfumes.

Today, I'm wearing Tam Dao EdT - this is one of those fragrances that, after wearing so many complex scents that are beautiful in the perfumer's art of combining a lot of ingredients, it is so satisfying to wear something so simple and beautiful. It's like the fragrance equivalent of shaved truffles on top of a plate of pasta with an egg sauce.

I have a decant of Tam Dao but I've never warmed up to it. I find that fragrances that have strong single notes tend to induce scent fatigue for me.
