God, I really, really wanted to like Knize 10. But I don't. Does that make me unsophisticated?

Probably. That and like a million other reasons.

I don't think it's a fragrance that is easy to like, and it's definitely better if you spray a little and then get just wafts of it from time to time during the day.

I agree. Today I put on slightly more than I should have, and found myself a bit overwhelmed by the "machine oil" vibe I get from Knize at the top (a big slug of isobutyl quinoline?) The almond-floral aspect is there as well, but it's definitely overwhelmed in the beginning. I almost couldn't take it, but it quieted down after a couple hours. I kind of felt bad for my co-workers though... :embar:

Next time I'm for sure putting on less.

Yeah, the engine oil vibe kind of killed it for me. But more power to you if you like it.

two days in a row, SOTD Puredistance M. Gosh this stuff is potent, I used a few drops from the pipe instead of spraying it and I'm pretty sure it's what caused my headaches both days. So much dry spicey leather.

Few days ago wore Kilian's Prelude to Love (that's the citrus one right?) and it was a pleasant opening but I found it underwhelming overall and poor longevity. After 2-3 hours I sprayed over with Neroli Portofino and it was smooth sailing from then on.

Yesterday: Gucci Envy PH
Today: MFK Oud. After 5 hours, down to skin scent, need to re-apply. Unfortunate that this is my favourite, because I will go broke at this rate.

I am confident that you'd really enjoy Puredistance M.

I am wearing a fragrance called S-ex at this moment in time.

The first couple of times I tried Knize 10 I hated it and gave away the decant. Years later I was talked into trying it again and oddly enough it worked this time.

I can say that about a few scents, now that I think of it. (L'Instant, Egoiste)

Well, I will have to circle back then at some point. Good to know.

SOTD: Chanel Allure Pour Homme. This is nice, but it's too sweet for me. Its like the way a good hand soap should smell (for me anyway). No hate.

Have you tried Edition Blanche?

Do NOT give it away like Thomas did! I've realized that I have disliked dozens of fragrances because I just didn't get them yet. Many things in life that are to be appreciated in the long-run are not easily approachable at first.

Luckily I only had a sample size of the Knize Ten so there is not much to give away. I appreciate the advice though.

B1OS - I have not tried Edition Blanche, but I will add it to my list of things to try. What made you think of that? Do you like it?

^^ Allure Homme Edition Blanche is completely different from the regular Allure Homme. It's definitely the best of the Allure series, IMO. The basic accord is simple, but extremely well executed. It's lemon and vetiver. But the lemon is a very creamy, sweet lemon, sort of like lemon cream pie. But it doesn't feel like a gourmand because the vetiver, along with a fairly prominent sandalwood note, really fleshes it out.

(This was my SOTD yesterday.)
