1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Tabac Rouge today. Thunderstorms and driving rain, seems right.

Just across the border, we had a hot day in Sydney. Time for the boring citruses. For me SOTD= Trefle Pur by Atelier Cologne. Brings to mind the green green grass of....wherever.

Seem to recall the boot was on the other foot not so long ago. Call it a draw. :)

Chanel PM was my first "real" fragrance as well. I loved it and still do. The PM Concentree followed, and I like it as well (though many don't). These days I keep the original Tiffany for Men on hand (which is similar and also by the same 'nose'), but both are lovely chypres worth a wear at any time.

In my old(er) age I like funkier/stinkier juice so it doesn't get the play it did back then, but it still is great for a meeting or a nostalgic "dip into the imaginary" (as Annie Lennox said last week on NPR)

    SOTD today is Shalimar EdC.

I had oddly intense olfactory images of Chanel PM all morning. It was as if it had been sprayed as a room spray. I figured the Lord was telling me I should wear it as my SOTD, which I did.

Le Labo Poivre 23. Not as bad as I originally thought. Might have to give this one a few more wears.

Noir Epices today. I really like this one. I've probably said this more than once over the past year or so but it's true.

A shout to local Australian talent- have you tried stuff by Mark Evans of Evocative Perfumes yet?

Mark is an active member of a FB group I am in. I haven’t tried his stuff yet, but a few of the other members have, with consistently positive reviews. He’s also got positive reviews (albeit from a mate) on Australian Perfume Junkies. The review may be a bit biased, but it does give more information about the fragrances.

Judging from his website, Mark does ship overseas.

Noir Epices for me too. Bitter opening, but it is very nice in the dry down. Fading pretty quick; only lasted about 5 hours.

SOTE Le Labo Patchouli 24. Hardly any patchouli, lots and lots of smoke, intertwined with leather, but then proceed to disappoint with a sweet vanillic drydown. Would much prefer a drier, woodsy drydown. Probably wont get lots of compliment wearing this, but people will certainly be intrigued. Quite close to FB worthy, currently running fourth behind Tuscan Leather, Memoir Man and Lubin Idole. How would Rien fare in this battle? Stay tuned.
