Lutens Rose de Nuit today. I'm disappointed by this one, to be honest.

Really? I love that one. I had a decant that my wife stole and it was probably her favorite scent.

I was very excited to try this, but I should have known it wouldn't be my kind of scent. I rarely enjoy scents with a rose/beeswax or rose/honey accord, and that's the trouble with this one for me. I had a similar experience with Guerlain Rose Barbare.

SOTD: Essence of Vali EdP. I haven't worn this in a couple years, but I was running out the door and wanted a slap-you-in-the-face lemon scent...

I forgot how strong this is and was a little too generous with the sprays, but I got a whole bunch of compliments today, anyway. Apparently this is an "all-natural" fragrance, but the power and longevity makes me wonder. Not very complicated, and it's fairly linear, but there is a nice lemony-resinous accord with just the right amount of darkness. I might wear this again...

A short play I wrote:

A: Hey man, what are you wearing for your evening hours scent?
B: I will answer the question by naming Amyris Homme by Francis Kurkdjian.
A: Oh, ok. I was just asking even though I didn't really care too much.
B: Amyris Homme by Francis Kurkdjian, irregardless of whether you cared much.

"Irregardless"? Go to the back of the class. :)

Johana by Keiko Mecheri. A crisp, somewhat bitter floral chypre.

MFK Lumiere Noire Homme today. Brilliant start, mediocre after that, then awful drydown. The drydown residue smells stale and sour. What a disappointment.
