Arcade Fire came into town yesterday, and let me tell you, it was AWESOME...

It was at an outdoor venue, the weather was beautiful. The crowd was into it, the sound was amazing, and the band was just soooo full of energy. I've only gone to one other concert in my life, and this was the first in quite the number of years.

The music is great on the CD, but I never really preferred the sound quality (too flat-sounding, not enough OOMPH). The concert was exponentially better; feeling the thump of the bass through your chest, the dynamics of everything, just amazing.

My girlfriend who traditionally is a hip-hop fan, REALLY enjoyed herself.

As promised, here are some pics:

Looks like a great venue, I'm jealous. I only got Funeral a few months ago (I know, I was way behind on these guys), but it's probably the best album I've heard for the first time in the last 12 months. I only hope they can continue the standard they've set in their first few releases over the next 10+ years.

If you like Arcade Fire, check out Wild Light. They sound kinda like AF with the singer from the Flaming Lips doing lead vocals. They played the Jaguar Club's most recent Boston show and came to my crib for an afterparty. If I remember correctly, one of the guys from the band was college roommates Win Butler up in Montreal (at least that's what I think the connection was, I was more than a little wasted at the time). Cool buncha guys.
