I have this dry clean only silk tie I used to really like. a stain in it i tried to have dry cleaned a couple times made the stain run. I remember on here or possibly another forum seeing a thread saying i cant ever decide when i have a tie to throw it away or spend $4 to get it dry cleaned then throw it away. i took it to a cleaner by my house today and they said maybe they could steam it but who knoes what would happen and id have to pay anyway. i want to know if theres anything i could do? maybe even dry cleaning it again could make the stain run the rest of the way out lol.
its a light beige, pretty much the whole thing one color, the throught occured to me, since its trash anyway right, i have a washing machine with no agitator, it the spinning front loader type, throw it in a laundry bag, on delicate, in the machine which is delicate anyway, with delicate detergent, and air dry, then press back together with an iron??? hoping for other suggestions before i go that far maybe it can be saved, but i have had silk shirts that were accidently washed and it took away the sheen and the smooth feel, but the material was intact and this tie doesnt have a sheen or a smooth feel.
