Dear Gentlemen,

We are proud to announce the arrival of a special collection from Sartoria Castangia. The Sardinian company is the oldest established tailoring house in Italy, opened in 1850. As holders of the Royal Warrant of the Savoy family they have fitted and made suits to famous figures like Bill Clinton, Oliver Stone, Silvio Berlusconi and suits for Michael Douglas in Wall Street.

Sartoria Castangia was always renowned because its impeccable craftsmanship. With the exception of their completely unlined pieces, all the coats feature full canvas construction, handmade collars and hand attached linings. The Platinium range costists of their finest creations with even more handmade details inside. This not just results in beautiful garments but a great fit off the rack.

Our collection includes both suits and jackets in a range of different styles. Some of the sportcoats come with a very lightweight interlining and natural shoulders, while most of the suits have slightly padded shoulder construction. As Sardinia doesn't have it's own tailoring style, we can spot details which originate from Rome, Milan or Naples.

On top of the great fit and look, all the fabrics used by the company are for the highest quality. From sumptous cashmeres to sturdy tweeds, there is something for everyone. Below we highlighted our favorite sportcoats for the winter season.

Nice that you've picked up a selection of Castangia 1850.

Here's a thread I started asking the SF/CM community to provide some feedback about Castangia when I first learned of the house. A few users who have some Castangia garments provided some great feedback and comparisons to other noted Italian makers.

And NY Times Style article narrating the author's visit to Sardina and Castangia's workshop.

Hey Mark, where are the Castangia suits you mentioned? Can't find them on the website.

We will reply to the thread. I think Castangia is an amazing brand and they represent a tremendous value. A lot of their jackets fit many types of body right off the rack and the construction is exquisite.

Great. Would be great if you replied with your own take on fit and silhouette compared to other makers mentioned in the thread. Especially Attolini, who's cut is unrivaled IMHO.

Every man needs a great leather jacket. This leather/suede bomber jacket from Bottega Veneta is luxurious, but still cool as hell.

TOM FORD does shoes well too. Great look with grey worsteds, or tan cavalry twill trousers.

Great review about a Castangia cotton suit (supplied by us) over at the To Quote blog.

I particularly like some of pictures, they show off the great fit (off the rack) and the "continental" cut of the suit.

Here are some of my favorites:

Long, sweeping lines and sexy curves. An accurate way to describe the cut of the Cesare Attolini peak lapels. This grey herringbone suit is powerful, yet still understated. Does that sound line an oxymoron to you? Let us know your thoughts!

Let's start the week with a vintage leather jacket from Harley Davidson. Well worn by its previous owner, the jacket is already broken in nicely with great fades all around. A great piece to give an edge to your casual wardrobe.
