Another lovely sportcoat for the fall season, this time from Sartoria Partonepea. One of the strange things of retail is that such pieces you would think will fly out the door, don't get noticed so much. This happened with this piece, so we have it in a range of sizes still, for a better price than usual. How do you like it?

Make a subtle statement with this Bottega Veneta Document Case. Given the hand woven 'intrecciato' leather it has a unique, easily distinguishable character. It is surprisingly versatile in the same time, it looks great with a suit or with casual jacket and jeans.

Style inspiration for the week ahead. Prince of Wales flannel suit from Cesare Attolini paired with a bespoke Turnbull&Asser shirt, block stripe sevenfold tie from Kiton and a paisley pocket square from Tino Cosma.

Today I highlight a superb wool blend trench coat from Boglioli. However a bit unusual, it's khaki shade makes it special and easy to wear with both tailoring or casual outfits. The trench coat is an iconic piece of menswear history, a smart investment to serve you for many years to come.

    Style Inspiration - D'avenza sportcoats Part 1.

As the sartorially most exciting part of the year is upon us we created looks for some of our favorite sportcoats from D'avenza. This blue tweed number features soft construction and patch pockets, which goes perfectly with the casual nature of the fabric. The bright blue hue is eye-catching without being overwhelming. While it would look great with dark denim or grey flannels too, we selected a beautiful chocolate brown corduroy trouser to go with it. One of our last remaining pieces from Anderson and Sheppard. We imagine some knitwear under the jacket for this look, either a knitted wool polo sweater or a rollneck. The boots are from Edward Green, the Shannon on the 82 last. A magnificent iteration of the classic brogue boot. We finished off the look with an easy navy scarf, which obviously is dependent on a personal taste. Some would go without or go with a much bolder one :) Oh, and the belt, suede topstitched by hand, from Kiton.

Another highlight from our assortment of D’avenza sportcoats, a tweed gun club check made with soft, full canvas construction and handmade buttonholes. The check has enough character to stand out and its quite easy to match with different types of trousers, denim, tan chinos or grey flannels are all welcome. Just a great piece of tailoring, which has all the features you would expect from a sportcoat.

Suede safari jackets are an always recurring design in every respectable menswear brands arsenal. The choice of connoisseurs, a style which has everything a conscious dresser can ask for. Right in the sweet spot of being casual (certainly less formal than a sportcoat) but sophisticated in the same time. It's also easy to style them with a shirt or a rollneck sweater for fall, they look great with jeans and tailored trousers too. Just don't wear a tie with them.

This is the picture from small series highlighting our favorite D’avenza sportcoats. Chocolate brown is a great choice for smart casual jackets, right after navy blue. The sturdy windowpane tweed fabric balances off the DB cut well and it looks just great with a pair of dark denim and open neck shirt or a rollneck. A great look for parties during the festive season.

This cashmere/silk plaid sportcoat from D'avenza is another real stunner. The pattern is comprised of muted shades on a taupe background, so it is another example of a really versatile jacket. The fabric is a mid weight, soft yet strong, it has enough heft to wear it on it's own during fall, then layer it under a coat in wintertime.

We also carry a nice selection of seasonal D'avenza suits, a good example being this grey chalk stripe flannel double breasted number. It is more structured than the sportcoats shown before but still has that Italian softness to it. Commanding but approachable in the same time. We paired it with a foulard silk tie and pocket square from Brioni. Soon available on the site too.

Only a creme rollneck sweater missing from the picture to complete this look. To be worn for an elegant dinner, smart casual event or to simply enjoy the merits of the finest Neapolitan tailoring.
