Sartorial trip to Naples

Hello.

End of February I will be for a trip to south of Italy and Naples. I plan to get my first bespoke sports jacket. The big houses are to expensive and even booked out.

I was looking at some smaller tailoring houses

1. Sartoria Carfora
2. Sartoria Sodano
3. Sartoria Caracciolo
4. Sartoria CHIAIA
5. Sartoria Cuono

So far, so good. All of them have good and not to good reviews.

My body shape is not easy. First my shoulders are compared to my height of 1.73 m relatively wide. My chest has volume and is not flat. My spine is a bit curved. And my shape is kind of boxy and squared.

The price should be max. 2000 Euro. I am able to travel to Naples a couple of times for the fittings. So traveling tailors are not a must.

I am looking for a soft jacket with no padding. The shoulders and the chest should not be 'pronounced' and emphasized. It should be also not to tight and to short.

Has anyone experience or opinion which of the tailors above would be the best for myself? Or maybe another one which is not on the list?

Many thanks
Christian

Jealous. It's a dream of mine to do what you're doing. Maybe one day. No recommendations, but take lots of pix!

Have you read the other Naples threads as well? I've put lists of places on that.

"See Naples and die" is a phrase, it seems, of unknown origin.
I have never been, but want to. Your trip made me wonder what films have feature Naples. IMDB it quite useful for such data.
"Yesterday, today tomorrow" might be the most famous?
"Journey to Italy" seems to feature the city.
There is the restored version on utube

Not a very good film, but a few scenes are indeed shot on location.
"La Pelle" sounds grim, but must do as well.
I think I might the first one sometime, as Loren and Mastroianni are worth a view!
The Italy Unpacked series on the BBC features a great segment on Naples-

I was there 4 years ago mainly to see Pompeii and Herculaneum-
Herculaneum was more impressive and less crowded. I resolved not
to distract myself by shopping, let alone ordering bespoke- which I
could not justify and was not going to be able to do try-ons. But the
food was extraordinary- from the breakfast buffet in my otherwise
ordinary hotel to the cuisine at a mid-priced restaurant I picked
at random a block away. By my second meal I already had "my"
waiter who shared his life story along with menu and wine suggestions.
Another observation: Those men who actually wore jackets- It was late
September and still warm, invariably wore the Neapolitan cut. In Milan
a week later, their counterpart's jackets had more defined shoulders and
the food was different.
