It's now '07 (at least in my parts), and my mind is already on clothes. Any sartorial new year's resolutions? Mine are as follows:
-Better suit
-Invest in some brown calf dress shoes
-A few new MTM shirts
-Wool/knit silk ties
-Upgrade my casual wardrobe a bit

Do share yours.

Ditch all my white socks (which I never wear, save for the low ankle-cut socks during the summer) and get a lot more cool patterned dark colored socks.

But I want to also pick up more slim fitting wool vests in interesting subtle patterns. Vintage is where it's at.

Also, stop bringing shady drunk chicks home with me. It's not really sartorial, until they spill drinks all over my steez.

Hrm, that's a good one. I should get more interesting socks myself. However, I won't ditch my white socks completely because I still use them for working out and what not.

Evolve beyond the dreaded business casual.
- real* dress pants -- no more chinos/Dockers
- real* dress shirts -- no more polos; begin to phase out buttondowns
- some nice ties

More shoes! (top contenders)
- C&J weymouth (dk brown)
- C&J belgrave (chestnut)
- Alden monk strap (suede)
- Alden chukka (dk brown kudu)

Lose some weight so everything looks better.

I also plan to lose weight as I am getting married in May. Afer the wedding, which is taking all of my money for the time being, I plan to upgrade my dress wardrobe with a new suit, MTM shirts, ties, and at least 1 pair of nice brown dress shoes. Also looking to get a pair of chelsea's in brown.

I have waaaaay too much stuff that never gets worn and don't want to get into a pattern of just collecting clothes for the sake of having it.

I'm a relative newbie to this forum so my resolution is to actually build a wardrobe. I'm off to a good start by getting premium denim jeans and new monk strap shoes.

There always a place for chinos, polo and button down shirts, it's just a matter of knowing when. Dockers aren't a good choice for chinos, however.

Like many others, to eliminate (or store) stuff I haven't worn for a year. No matter how much I accumulate I seem only to wear the same favourite suits, shirts, shoes and ties.
To that end, no purchases in 2007. I want and need a much more minimalist wardrobe.
In 2008 however I plan to reward myself (given I've succeeded with the 07 resolution) with a couple of Chan suits and maybe add some C and J black semi-brogues to the overwhelming number of brown shoes in my closet.
