Hi!

I got a pair of leather chelsea boots and heard that it's better to condition them first before wearing (you don't know how long they sat in storage and all that).

After long sessions of surfing the internet, I bought Saphir Renovateur as conditioner and some Saphir Pommadier Havanne/tabbaco brown to use after.

The thing is that one of them is starting to remove the factory finish from my shoes. After checking the forums again, I am more confused than before.

Oh, and I'm from Romania, Europe so I don't have many places to buy products from ( shoecare.ro, Ecco being 2 examples). What should I do for care routine and to fix that?

Renovateur is a strong product made to remove old shoe polish. Be carefull. Saphir cream polish is all you need.

So I should just use the pommadier? No conditioner or balm? Also, I want to wear them multiple times a week. How frequently should I apply product on them?

Listen....don’t put anything on them. Just leave them be for now. Wear them and break them in. Don’t abuse them! Insert shoe trees and keep them dry.

after 1-2 months, then use the conditioner. Work the conditioner in as instructed and if need be, color matched polish.

Depending on the condition when worn, you’ll only really need to do this once every 3-4 months.

Don’t over do it with product. Let the natural patina develop and use the product to protect and enhance.

Oh, ok. So you're not supposed to do it frequently. Thank you for your answers. Also, I'll read through those guides when I'm free.
