Excellent examples of why I prefer Italian over British -- these are sleek and sculptured, not at all clunky.

Me either. None of these shoes does anything for me.

I'm glad I'm not the only one: these shoes look positively soulless.

That is actually a perfect description of why I do not like Santoni. A shoe made in the style of Santoni needs to look like it is an artisanal product. It needs to show the love somebody put inot making it. Santoni shows none of this.

Well artisticallya I give the props for tryinga something newa. However, after wearing the U last by Vassa, and wearing the Santoni, you gotta be real careful with those Santoni for business, me thinka me sticka with them Vassa in this price range as they, I have found with experience the Vass are always eleganta, still italian Looking with a nice sharp last, yet not over the top, I'm findinga need for balancea in shoes. Santoni may do wella with womena in a cluba though.[IMG] [IMG] [IMG] But I prefer ankle boots for almost all casual wear with jeans and sucha. But I can see how artistically inclindeda individuals love Santoni's more aggressive stylings. If only I would a listen to IamMatta in the first place. He does have well thought out good taste.

I do have some Vass U last 3 eyelet chukkas coming in this week which I will post. I think they are excellent, I'd venture to wear them with a charcoal suiting real soon.

The Vass U last is perfection to me. It balances artistic lines with elegance and good taste. You can wear them for business quite nicely, the London 3 eyelet on U is my favorite shoe in cognac. Bellisimo.
And if you love Santoni, they are made extremely well, and for the more artistic adventerous type. Thru experience only a few fit my needs whereas the Vass goes anywhere and everywhere while still showing some flair in a tasteful way.

I love your cap toe in brown and of course, the 3 eyelet London.

I feel the same about Santoni shoes as Matt, Z and Andre - their attraction seems entirely superficial, no depth, no soul. Andre hit the nail on the head. There's one feature that I consider rather off-putting as well. What's these machine printed numbers on the lining? Machine printed numbers "fatte a mano"? DOH? They maybe have been hacked "a mano" into the computer that controls the printer. And what's with that fake handwriting logo? These shoes simply don't feel as if they are for real.
