These are not for me, but I admire them greatly!

Here are some of the more recent Santoni I added to my closet:

Here are my grays in the wild. I own these and a black pair of double monks (Howard Yount) as my "black" shoe options.

They look a lot better out in the wild than the prev. still shot which made them look more like a mottled blue/purple. Very nice alternative to the usual black. Not for every day, but a nice change of pace.

Hey Santoni buyers,

Just as FYI there are at least a dozen Santoni pairs currently on sale from 33%-50% off on Nordstrom.com. Quebec and Lanford to name a few nicer styles that are half off. Sizing is probably limited but the site is easy enough to navigate and determine options.

Here's a pair of Santoni boots I picked up around three years ago - my very first pair, actually.

I have never seen this model since, in any shop, catalog or forum. They are an unusual and quite breathtaking design, much pointier than most Santonis, with unusual stitching patterns and beautifully antiqued leather, which reveals brown, grey and even olive hues depending on the light.

I mistreated them rather badly last year when I hiked up the Lion's Head in Cape Town. It was a spur-of-the-moment decision and I only remembered what was on my feet after I had already paid off the cab and struck out on the trail...

Anyway they got fairly scuffed and dusty, but a lick of Renovateur and some polish has mostly restored their lustre.
