I recently purchased a pair of what were supposedly Santoni FAM's off eBay. They don't have the FAM script on the inside of the heel, but came w/ shoe trees that say Fatte A Mano on them. They are wholecuts. Did Santoni always indicate the FAM script inside the heel or is this a more recent change that might indicate I have an older model? I can post pictures later if needed.

As far as I know all FAM's should have the "Fatte a mano" writing on the heel area of the insole.

Then again, I'm not quite sure about the complete offerings that Santoni has in the FAM range. Recently I picked up a pair of FAM, goodyear welted, penny loafer in shell cordovan.

That said, I think posting a picture will be very helpful.

i know even as far back as 2 or 3 years ago they had fatte a mano handwritten on the insole, that is not too long ago, but i cannot imagine that pair of shoes being older than that.

are the soles heavy and thick? most FAM do come with them and channeled as well.
i would have asked the seller for more specific pictures before bidding, as he only has one picture up and it doesnot show much detail.

he may have used the words fatte a mano in his auction not knowingly thinking maybe the term applied to all santoni.
