I have something broadly similar, by Industria.

Knit outerwear presents a few problems.

First of all, the soft material pills and pulls faster than you'd think. And IMO this style would not look so good when roughed up a bit.

Second, if you hang it it stretches -- especially if unlined as this one seems to be, but if you store it flat...where do you store it flat? Perhaps in your sweater mega storage area. We don't have those in Brooklyn.

I'd say it's tempting but pass.

I don't like how it's being worn in the picture. We'll have to see how GS puts his spin on it. But I wouldn't wear it.

Strikes me as rather bland, if not offensive. Impractical as hell, though, as mack pointed out.

good points.....the hanging bit isnt a problem as I fold and drawer all my knitwear/sweaters. the pilling issue would def be a concern.....ima check the RL store this weekend and see if they have it to feel and try on in real life.

There's an A&S joke in here, somewhere.

I'm on the fence. Part of me likes it, part of me wants to shout "Ahoy, matey!" I'm most swayed by the double RL buttons -- definitely not a fan.

But what do I know. I recently bought a Polo shawl-collared sweater in orange.

I like it, but then again I'm partial to cardigans and other knits. I also like the banana republic shawl collar cardigan so take it for what it's worth. I think this is one of those things that's cool to look at but after awhile you'd get fed up with it.

I like it. I wouldn't buy it, just because i'm not particularly fond of the whole military aesthetic, but i could see it working out well for someone else. Really don't see how 'bland' could be used to describe it.

I saw that shawl BR cardigan in the latest FHM/MAXIM/STUFF (one of those) in a photo spread and it looked really good on the model. When I saw it in stores they only had large sizes so i didnt try it on but it was a very chunky sweater which turned me off, but maybe because we've been having such warm weather the last week anything reeking of warmth is anathema right now

The large was huge on me when I tried it on at the grove and it was in black which, combined with the boring knit, turned me off. They have a nice silver heather one online that I haven't seen in person yet, maybe this week. Warm weather prevents me from trying on sweaters in stores
