  • Epaulet x Styleforum Alpine Loden Collection

Loden wool, woven in Tirol for centuries, is known for its resistance to cold and wetness. Our project in collaboration with Epaulet introduces Alpine Loden, a modern 18oz fabric blend of 75% merino wool and 25% nylon, woven in Italy. It's lighter, more durable, wind-resistant, and more comfortable than traditional Loden fabric. Partnering with Rochester Tailored Clothing, we offer custom garments like sportcoats, suits, and overcoats, made to your specifications. Learn more about the Loden collection here.

Is there a good list of places to shop for menswear around the Bay Area? I'm finding it sorely lacking compared to NYC and LA. The best thing I've found is Evan Kinori on Valencia, which I greatly admire but isn't really my style.

For Street Wear and Denim, yes. For tailored clothing or good vintage, meh.

Here's an annotated map.

Here's a list of places that I've been to.
Standard & Strange, Oakland
Self Edge, San Francisco
Brogue, San Carlos
Wilkes Bashford, San Francisco
Evan Kinori (you mentioned), San Francisco
Todd Snyder, San Francisco
Buck Mason, San Francisco

Add to that, Cable Car Clothiers, San Francisco, where it's always 1958.
Overpriced traditonal Ivy/trad tailored clothing.

Thanks. I need to check out Standard & Strange.

I would add MAC to the top tier of clothing stores in SF alongside Self Edge and Evan Kinori.

The annotated map on SF is useless. No one can add to it. I'm starting one and I'll post a link shortly that will allow us to maintain a map ourselves.

Okay. Here's a shared map of the places mentioned in this conversation. Please feel free to add stores, tailors, and vintage stores. I haven't added places like Suit Supply or Indochino - I personally don't want them there. We can discuss.

Would definitely through my hat in the ring for any traveling tailors that need a critical mass here in the Bay before they visit!

Trying again -

I've been corresponding with Antonio of Pastena Elegance, about a commission for a sport coat in a vintage cloth (thanks @camez_ ).

I'm trying to get him to come to San Francisco, but he needs about 8-9 appointments to make the trip. Otherwise, I'll go down to LA to meet him.

If you're in the Bay Area and are willing to make an appointment with him please let me know.

He is highly regarded and is very reasonable. You can read this thread for details.
