My managing partner has asked me to explore networking/client development opportunities here in San Francisco. I am a 2nd year associate, and I do primarily transactional work in the IP and entertainment/media field. I am a member of some of the local organizations, i.e. SFIPLA, and was looking at attending the SF Chamber of Commerce's various groups/events, and also looking towards Asian-American centric organizations, i.e. KABA, AABA, etc., and attending those networking events. Beyond that, marketing is not my forte, and I don't know how else/where to meet potential clients. I know we have several attorneys on this forum - any ideas/advice would be appreciated.

ABA is a good organization but its really not networking. Are you in SF?

Yep, in SF. Is AABA specifically not good for networking? Or, were you referring to bar associations in general? Also, do you mean not good for networking with respect to client development, or in general?
