Hi,

Does anyone here have any experience with purchasing RTW Samuelsohn suits from The Bay in downtown Vancouver? Is their stock decent/up to date? Do they have sales in the spring/summer?

I'm specifically inquiring about The Bay because I'd rather not go to Harry Rosen's (since it's a ripoff) and also because I have a $200 gift card.

Thank you.

You can order in Samuelson at the bay if you like. I find there stock isn't that up to date, but if you know what you want the can order it in.

The cheapest place in town for Samuelson is:

S. LAMPMAN LTD.
2126 WEST 41ST AVENUE
VANCOUVER, BC
CANADA, V6M 1Z1, 604-261-2750

Again, they don't carry much stock but you can order anything in by MTO and it much cheaper to order through them then the Bay or even Harry's during a trunk show. Just make sure you know your size and the model you want. With the MTO with these guys is cheaper then off the rack at the Bay and I find there in house tailor very good at make the final touch up to the suit when they come in.

FYI the store is not much - more focased on old man clothes, but the Sammy's they order in are the same as any other place. They have several jackets in stock you can try on for size, but they don't carry flat front trousers in store (did I mention old man focas?) so make sure you know your trouser size in Samuelsohn flat fronts in advance if that what you are after. I believe all Sammy flat fronst ae the same cut and the code on them is Q62. Also make sure you know the Jacket style you are after. I have been a fan of the Alton these days - 2 button, side vent, medium sholder with a slight rope.

What's the price range there?

I like the pants they bring in during winter, plaids and tweeds you can't find elsewhere in heavy fabric, I was told they have them made up in small runs just for them, also you have to love the socks at Lampman's they have a great selection, best in the city in my opinion, but agree allot of there stuff is trad/old man style...

To be honest I can't recall the price range, but the deal they do is the stock price list for Sammy MTO less 15%. I have ordered through them and Harry's during there Sammy events and Lampman is a few hundred dollars cheaper then Harry's MTO sale price. The suit I ordered was $900 and somethign dollars after tax with a mid price cloth.
