    Hi guys,

I noticed there isn't a dedicated Sammys thread (as there is for some RL lines) and was hoping to give one a start. I also wanted use it as a PSA for some great sales I've been seeing.

PSA 1: The Bay has some gray travelling suits in most sizes for 699.99 (30% off). They're all in the Gable cut.

Samuelsohn is so underrated....best value by far. I have two sports coats and they are among my favourites, right up there with the Italian brands.

There's some old research on the web about Samuelsohn body types. It'd be well worth the time to dig it up and link it here.

Samuelsohn is a little like Belvest in the sense that both offer a wide range of
silhouettes and both do high proportion of their business private label.
That said, the Samuelsohn Talbot and Greenwich models are very close
to the SF paradigm. Which Paul Stuart models are from Samuelsohn?
The last time I was in the store, two years ago, their high end suits
were from from Isaia at Kiiton prices.

Ah, I found the link to the page that described Sammie MTM bodies, on AskAndy.

Their made in Canada items are from Samuelsohn. Their high end line is called Phineas Cole and is made in Italy.

My Phineas Cole suits are made in Canada by Sammy. Phineas isn't their "high end" line as much as it is their "younger" line and it ranges in price.

Thanks for the correction; then what is their highest line? Or is it just mainline and phineas cole?

You are thinking of the "Stuart's Choice" line, which is/was made by Isaia until 2006 and St Andrews therafter. Samuelsohn makes the mainline Paul Stuart suits (previously Southwick).

Both lines are excellent and represent a great value.

Not quite correct. Phineas Cole is a high style line that is separate and parallel to a segment of regular Paul Stuart clothing.
When I was last in the store I tried on one of their most expensive suits which a couple of years ago was over $6k.
It was definitely not Phineas Cole.

    Major Psa:

You can get a samuelsohn mtm suit with Holland and Sherry cloth for $1300. Their H&S cloths are half off until tomorrow morning. They have amazing fabrics left but I'm pissed I didn't hear about it until today.

I saw it at Harry Rosen; don't know if it's offered in the states. But I was blown away by the pricing.

I wonder what they charge for a three piece suit?

Harry Rosen's house brand "J.P. Tilford" is made for them by Samuelsohn, I believe Rosen runs a MTM sale twice (?) yearly and that would be a good time to go suit shopping. I purchased an unlined Tilford navy blazer this Christmas from Rosen. It's made from the Loro Piana Storm System fabric and is really an awesome piece - super versatile.

The vest is about 450 more.

Getting a fully canvassed mtm 3 piece suit in H&S fabric for under 2k is a great value.

The H&S fabric discount wasn't advertised as part of their mtm event. The SA just mentioned it in passing, and they had 4 swatch books full of disciounted fabrics. They had everything from heavy/tweed like fabrics to tropical/light fabrics. They also have some amazing pin stripe designs.

Wow, that seems oddly high to me. Are vests hard to make?

Edit: not saying it isn't a great deal overall for a three piece MTM suit, but the price for the vest being almost the same as the cost of the pants or the suit jacket seems odd to me.
