Same shoe model, same size, but slightly different look?

So I got two pairs of the same model AE Taunton boots with me at the moment (read this thread if you are interested to know why) that are in the same size and after further inspecting them, I found that the edge of both pairs are different. One is wider while the other one is slimmer; and the one that is wider weight a little bit more as well. I never knew the same pair of shoes would be made slightly different. I know it is just the edge width but I personally think that it changed the look of the boots. Do you guys think the slimmer one would be more versatile (wear with suit and jeans) or the other one? Or is it just me over-analysing things lol
