We are trying once again to bring trousermaker Salvatore Ambrosi to San Francisco at the end of June (29 and 30).

As many of you know, he makes what may be the best trousers in the world. They are $700 a pair, including cloth.

We have about a dozen pair committed and need twenty. Any Western members that need trousers, please contact me to express interest.

Thanks!

If you offer to hold the event at your place, allow the faithful access to your entire shoe and suit wardrobe....and if Virgin USA is still offering $49 one way flights...then maybe it can work

Just a simple joke. If people are offended I apologize.

$700 does not seem high for the "best trousers in the world".
I paid $400 or so to a no name, now-retired, San Francisco
tailor about 12 years ago. These pants were not the best
but have held up very well and fit beautifully. The fit
was the reason I went for bespoke in the first place.
At the time, I could have purchased arguably better
slacks RTW, but they would not have fit as well.
Unfortunately, I am not able to take advantage of
Signor Ambrosi's visit.

It may sound like a lot of money but the price is good value.

$700 is just a bit more than Chan charges for trousers made from premium cloth, and significantly less than bespoke pants from most of the well-known New York or Row tailors.

I'm in the area, and I'd love to watch and learn more about the process. Not the measuring of other mens loins, but rather, get an idea of the details that go into bespoke trousers. But yeah, $700 is about 3X what I'd ever be prepared to pay for pants.

You can count me in depending on the date. I would prefer gray flannel, chocolate flannel or a brown donegal tweed.

just as an FYI, there's a minimum order of 2 pairs for trousers.
