meh.

What do you guys think about this brand? It had some nice, comfortable looking outerwear that sold out and got removed from listing.
Not many online stores carry this brand and I don't think I've noticed them in any stores in LA but I just moved down here so.. haven't checked out many shops.
Tried searching but Salvage doesn't have their own company website so I couldn't find out who the founder is.

Though, Revolve clothing is located in Hollywood somewhere. I might have to check that out sometime.

Anyway, I see some outerwear / shirts by Salvage I like but some are sold out or way too expensive.
I find it odd how it's usually the brands I've never heard of that have high price tags. Sometimes I wish I could sew my own clothes.

edit: Was I supposed to say "discuss" or something?

You're fuckin with me right? Or can you tell me what's wrong with this forum?

Rather than fill up the forum with question / discussion threads, you want to jam it all into one thread because you dislike what you consider "spam?"
That's the feeling I'm getting here.

Is the goal a forum with a single thread that consists of every single topic?

I wanted to hear what people's thoughts were on this brand. = Spam?

wtf?

ok, as far as brands go, salvage/drifter would fall under what BrettChaotix calls the "LA Rocker" look, unfortunately -- this puts it in the same category as Ed Hardy.

the cachet of most of these brands is that they are not particularly groundbreaking in terms of design, fit, or construction... they just have screenprinted graphics and are printed on softer tees than... oh let's say "hanes."

while a lot of people could say the same thing about other brands like b. blessing, a brand like that offers beyond t-shirts and hoodies (like collections offering things like reversible harringtons and jewelry), and the t-shirts/hoodies it does offer are more simplistic than garish.

It's not the forum aesthetic and you're not going to get a lot of honest comments on it other than spite and disdain.

And for the record, Brett knows jack **** about the "LA rocker" look. He's too busy perfecting the "B-more poser."

^ also a very good point, if you were to make a topic discussing a brand like Soe or Kolor, you might recieve different, more constructive commentary.

DECEMBER, if this were a brand that were interesting to SF, you might not receive this sort of response. You're probably better off discussing this on another forum that cares for that aesthetic, unless you're a glutton for punishment. Just being honest.

wtf double post. And did you just call me a douche?

I've been looking up some of the old threads and seems like people here think everyone who wears Affliction / Ed Hardy / Etc is a douche.
That's just sterotypical, closed minded thinking.

well sometimes I prefer simplistic like B.Son, but I also enjoy finding/wearing clothes that stand out more. So if everyone on this forum had one particular aesthetic what would the style be called? And how did everyone who has gathered at this forum end up all having the same aesthetic? When I signed up for the forum it said "Style Forum." So I thought all styles could be discussed here. Now I'm confused. Perhaps I'm in the wrong place. Like I said, I'm new to fashion so I'll look into brands like Soe or Kolor when I have time. But so far B.son is what I really love in terms of simplicity.

Yea I'm just now realizing that. But how did this forum come to be that way? It says "Style Forum," and not "this [particular] style forum" or that particular style forum."

http://www.revolveclothing.com/Displ...&c=Salvage&d=b I'm really not down with $100+ tees. Most of their stuff I've seen are just way too busy and ugly for my tastes. And as far SF's view, many people go with "less is more". Minimalist designs are accepted, and it only really makes sense. Though I cannot speak for everyone, I think a well fitting solid or striped tee from AmA/Uniqlo/AltA/W+H would look much better to way more people (even outside of SF) than busy, gaudy Salvage tees. If you like them, great. Wear what you love. Just don't be surprised when other people disagree with you, and don't get angry after you repeatedly do this.

I love this argument coming from a guy who just found out that the entire world doesn't rejoice in looks like Salvage. If we have set tastes then we must have tunnel vision.

I prefer to view it as having a filter for crap.

SF's flaw is that it applauds timeless clothing and few dabs of experimentation; Salvage's flaw is that the only thing "timeless" about it is how it repeats the same garish graphic over the same garish tee and its only dabs of "experimentation" is releasing the same t-shirt design in black AND blue.
