Will be heading there in the next few weeks. Any sales left then? Or just slim pickings? Looking for shoes in particular.

I think you're a bit late now, most people are into their AW stock with only a few sale items hiding up the back of their shop.

That's the only thing still on sale. They're still £495. Not really anything to write home about.

Traditionally sales start boxing day, but that's been creeping forward in recent years.

nothing left in any shops. there are a couple of racks in some stores with a mix of stuff. most stores are stocking a/w.

xmas sales will depend on how stores are doing. Summer sales started a little earlier then normal but the big xmas sales normally start on boxing day (26 dec)

What's "boxing day" for us foreign punters?

Thanks, saw that. I was wondering what it means... re-boxing the gifts to return to the store?

It's an old Church tradition. To do with the poor box I believe.

It's to do with medieval times. Servants did not get Christmas off because their employers required their services. They would instead be given the day after off, December 26, and given the leftovers, gifts and bonuses in boxes, hence boxing day.

Sincerely, I think you will see some sales starting in the run to Xmas this year, much like last year. Expect some sales starting in early December.
