Hi Guys. Often mid season sales start on the same date in every different retailer and online stores. Can somebody enlighten me on how sales dates are established and how I, and the public may be able to find out these dates? The dates of any up coming sales would be greatly appreciated!

June 1st starts the countdown for the summer sale season. Nordstrom has that half yearly sale around that time that often dictates what everyone else does. If they break for sale on June 9th, you don't want to break for sale June 12th as the foot traffic all goes their direction and you never regain any of those lost sales when people come in your store, turn back around when they don't see a clearance rack.

Day after thanksgiving starts the waiting game for luxury retailers, they are trying to see how far into december they can go with out discounting. In the luxury world that isn't catering to a black friday crowd, you try to get into the second week of december, and hopefully you don't punish your customers by discounting further the day after xmas. they will remember that next year and now you have trained them not to shop until after the holiday when they know they can get it cheaper.
