Seriously? If so, is that also the case with the harnessed Wyatts? The stitching on those looks stunningly real.

Well, the stitches are real, they just don't serve any purpose aside from decorative. I still think they're fairly well made, as far as fashion shoes are concerned.

Sorry, when I said fake, I meant that they make it look like the shoe is Goodyear welt when it really isn't.

"Stunningly real" is actually a fairly good indicator that it's cosmetic only. If they were actually Goodyear welted then the stitches would likely not be that straight.

Does anyone know when the plaid shirts are due to arrive? I don't understand why the winter coats and jackets are available now (which surely no-one is going to be wearing yet) but the shirts are still unavailable.

If you really want to learn more there are tons of very informative posts elsewhere in the forum describing hand welting, black stitching, goodyear welting and lots of other techniques.

Need some sizing advice.. About to buy a pair of SL01/H.

    I Have a pair of SL01/L in 41 which fit a little bit big. I wear 40 / 40,5 in Crop Jodhpur and 40 in SL10/H.

what would you guys recommend? A 40 or a 41?

Based on those facts isn't 40 going to be better than 41 for you?

Yes I think so but some say the SL01/H fits smaller than the SL10/H wich in a 40 is perfect for me

I imagine the lows fit the same as highs, seems like 40.5 would be best.

By the way: I will never buy shoes with cemented soles ever again!

I bought some Gucci oxfords for 400 euro about 3 months ago (when I visited my parents in Europe) and the hot weather in Dubai caused the glue to come off and I looked like bum with loose soles while I have tons of other shoes at home.

Went to a cobbler and he proposed to remove them and replace by a blake stitched sole for 200 dollars.
I reluctantly accepted it because these shoes are still brand new (worn maybe 10 times max), but I learned a valuable lesson.

does anyone alter any knitwear? I've had the breton stripe sweater for awhile now and i rarely wear it because it fits perfect in the body, but the sleeves are a bit too wide. kieran?

@cptspaulding666 there is an incredible amount of variability between sizing on different washes of D02's in the same size. When buying used your best bet is to ask for measurements because tag size isn't too helpful. I'm anywhere between a 32 and 36 in various pairs. It's crazy.
