Amazing. I'm in alignment with many of his teachings - not hugely into bespoke (how can they be as stylish as many of the Italian houses?), think Allen Edmonds look best on one's grandfather, and love education.

I was in my morning meeting yesterday with the supervisors and managers at the manufacturing plant I work at. Everyone except for the General Manager and myself wear uniforms provided for work, and the General Manager always wears a button collar ****, chinos, the same brown belt and shoes. I always wear suits because I can and I like to, and that day I was wearing a pair of John Lobb shoes. The conversation with the production supervisor was as followed:
Him, "Wow, those look like Stacy Adams!"
Me, "What? Who is Stacy Adams?"
Him, "Those are shoes, I use to own a pair. They look exactly like them."
Me, looking down at my captoe chestnut misty calf shoes, "OK."
Him, "Yeah, they are really nice."
I just remembered this, looked up Stacy Adams, and now I question why I bother wearing anything nice when I'm the only one that cares. Oh yeah... because I am the only one that cares.

The day I realized Styleforum members are great for giving sartorial advice but not great at using the advice themselves.
