1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

What was the saddest day in your sartorial life?

Mine was when Hedi Slimane left Dior Homme. [IMG]

I got bicycle grease on the sleeve of a tan-with-brown windowpane jacket that I'd just had tailored to perfection.

    Dry cleaner fixed it.[IMG]

won a competition in uni, got photos taken that appeared in the newspaper... I was wearing a black oversized 3B suit with square rubber soled shoes... I shudder thinking about it.

When this really hot chick that I'm friends with and her friends commented that they liked my "older" shoes and outfits better. Which is why I always dress casual (other than the occasional odd jacket) when I go out drinking, clubbing etc.

Go to RL outlet, find 75% off sale rack Blue label made in italy (suits 250, sport coats 100-200). Every freaking size but 46R (theres no RL flagship store anywhere close to here)

Get home and realize at some point in my day my pants had split.

    THAT IS AMAZING.

This thread would be much better if it were called "pre-Style forum" or "facepalm choices" and featured pictures of our failings.

When I looked at a picture of myself at age 35 holding my infant son and realized I looked like a bro trapped in a man's body/life.

When I learned about this forum, and my lack of sartorial sense.

It was fine even up to that point.

But it got very sad when I extrapolated the two to realize that a lot of money was going to go out of my pockets from here on, with no foreseeable end.

I have to question the style choices of someone who picks SF group-think vs. what the ladies in their area prefer. [IMG]

This has been discussed too much already, but I'll reiterate my conclusion that to look good and appropriate you have to do two things:

    1) take into account the tastes and styles of people where you live (i.e. have style)
    2) be handsome, in shape and not give a fuck what anyone else thinks (i.e. project confidence)

I know those two point are kind of mutually exclusive, but that's how I dress. Works for me.

And no, I'm not reminiscing about the good old days , I'm 24. But I wish people you see everyday looked as well put together as they looked in 1920s for example.
