hey guys..anyone here got garments from either of these brands to give a short review about their quality, craftsmanship or/even mfger origin?

Moreover where do they stand when compared to higher end brands like S2A, BoO and SA.

Need your input to make an informed decision whether to buy a handful or items online.

Cheers!

I personally really enjoy S2A but I think their choices of fabrics and the fit is well a little whack.
Filippa K is simply to expensive for what it is. that comes from a guy who buys Filippa K .
If they lowered their price points or improved their fabric selectiona and moved to a better factory then I would be a happy guy but for now I think the price is to high.
does that help??

S2VS uses interesting fabrics, and his cuts are good for slim guys. I'm wearing one of his pieces right now. That said, their are definitely kinks in production that need to be worked out. For example, on the double layered henley that I am wearing right now, the fabric on the top layer is ragged, and you can definitely see this when you flip the garment inside out. It is a young company with some potential, so I would encourage you to support it, but be aware that "Made in America" often means that it takes several seasons for things to get done right.

I agree with Mauro on S2A. I think that Bblessing does a better job, though some of their garments definitely have issues as well.

A lot of forum members like Filippa K, myself included, but as Mauro said right now the stuff is a little pricey. But it's also not hard to find on sale, so I think it balances out, though a lot of US vendors carry very few pieces and they always seem to be the really lame ones. Bleh. Mauro did a good job this past season. It's simple, easy stuff. As for S2VS, I have no experience with that, but I remember seeing that short sleeved low cut cardigan at Oak in January, and I remember thinking that I would never pay retail for what it looked and felt like, but it was styled nicely. I dunno, some other people with more experience might say differently.

the issue I've had with Filippa K is the material they use. I got a storm coat from a few seasons past and the black fabric picked up lint from just about everything possible. It was super annoying. Also the fact that a lot of Filippa K make it to more than 50% sales every season makes it really hard for me to pay retail for it.

+1. Not the best, but it's doable.

Thks for the input all. I had that doubt as to the quality that Filippa k offered. Truely, i wld nv buy at those prices. I would consider them if they were seriously discounted. Saying that, i just missed out of the S2VS plaid shirt! damn.
