Do you have pictures of the balaclava ?

I really, really hope so.

I lost a week's worth of photographs last week, thanks to a faulty memory card which is currently undergoing surgery.

We've also made some scarves in cashmere-cotton, with design much as https://www.sehkelly.com/scarf-in-navy-lambswool-tuck-stitch/ but made a little longer, and now a "tubular" construction so they're in effect double-layered. Beautifully soft things, they are: the yarn really is top of the top.

I really, really hope so.

Very much so! A tidy 30 gigs of woolly imagery.

Not the balaclava, more's the pity, but some new knitwear nonetheless.

This is the cardigan, which we've made this time around in the same blend of cashmere (67%) and cotton (33%) as the polo shirt from last month. The cashmere is sheared sustainably from very particular parts of the throat and belly of a particular breed of goats in the Gobi Desert, would you believe, and the cotton is Egyptian cotton of the very longest staple.

Good yarn.

The elbow patches have turned out well this time around. We've made them a little more pronounced. They're a continuous, raised, heavier part of the under-sleeve, which is one of the greatest boons yet, in all our days of making hand-framed knitwear.

But as for the balaclava — hold onto your hats.

Yessir — there's a knitwear version of a hinge that permits exposure of the mouth and chin for things like breathing!

I was very close to buy the icebreaker version when you posted this. Just changed my mind. It's hard to find one that is not only functionnal (when -40C hit in Montreal you want to have one of those) but also kinda stylish.

We just dipped our toes into the water, to determine whether the balaclava has a potential userbase wider than one individual (so far we're up to three).

It is a little early!

At least on our schedule.

I am minded to try the parka minor again, in a lighter cloth, as well as the SB3 in some sort of tropical worsted.

The shopcoat is sure to make its debut, too.

Likely the extensively revamped car coat, as well.

We also have a few new jackets at various stages of development, some of which will likely find their way into the mix. One is a trucker-style jacket (a close relative of the work jacket) and another is a collarless "engineer" or railroad worker style. There's also what I'm calling the pyjama top, which is a light and very unstructured overshirt / simple jacket design.

One or two of those in the above paragraph will make their debuts, I'm sure!
