I have the Blue Barleycorn. I support the Grey herringbone.

I must add at this juncture and probably prominently later on, too, is that we are almost certain to make the balmacaan in a grey barleycorn (not herringbone) for our own collection at around the same time.

The lighter blue swatches catch my eye the most. Barleycorn is always wonderful for a coat. Herringbone is such a classic pattern that I gravitate towards that I would selfishly vote against since I already have so much herringbone outerwear

Balmacaan much too short, IMHO. Also, could be fuller.
Great fabric. Blue/gray would be nice too.

I would probably be on board for any conservative-ish mid to dark brown donegal in herringbone or plain weave.
To provide some more color to this comment my ideal bal cloth would be a heavier version of Molloy’s “peat” (6959-0136): basically a dark gray-ish brown donegal

But really I’m good with most mid-to-dark browns and probably grey too.

Thanks everyone so far!

I'll source more tweed at the start of the week: hopefully some green options as mentioned above, and if possible plains of the same weight (which I expect would look similar to the jacket posted above but with chunkier yarn, so edging more towards the barleycorn look).

Barleycorn designs will require more imagination, sadly, as they're not made as standard by the mill. Thus I guess at least for now, blend in your brains the colours of the herringbone swatches posted earlier with the tweeds at http://sehkelly.com/balmacaan (or just squint at the herringbones until they smush and reform into the blotchier barleycorn design).

I think that a brown or a brown mixed with any of blue, olive, or grey would be the most interesting to me, and I'm all about exploring not just herringbones or barleycorns but any other heavy cloth that the mill might do too...

I must say I'm more inclined to pick up a tielocken over a balmacaan, though the added length would probably sway to get both

Amazing! Many thanks, Paul.
Will we be able to sign up beforehand?

I wouldn't mind seeing some plain swatches as well; Donegal can be pretty spectacular on its own. (It seems you are already on it).

I'd love to see some green-greys, those can be very wearable and a nice changeup from what is typically seen. Alternatively, a rich olive-khaki color like Old Joe had last season in some of its coats.
