Appropriate name is appropriate.
Unfortunately, I live in one of those old apartment buildings that can't be heated uniformly during very cold winters, so indoors ≠ warm. Although I've always preferred having temperatures inside a bit cooler, and wearing a sweater, thermal, or wool work jacket, so these have always been warm and indoors clothing to me.
A 10 ply knitted onesie comes to mind.
I'd definitely buy this, throw on the balaclava, and do the full merino.
Hmmm. I like the idea of a set, too. Do you mean sold as one "product" online, or sold as separates?
Yes, I'd love to buy this as a set. For me, this would hit the sweet spot for a special project. It's the type of thing that you've never done, or at least to my knowledge, but that you might do and do well. It takes what you've been doing and pushes it just a little further to produce something unique yet also consistent with the history of your brand (for lack of a better word). If it's impractical to do as a set, then I'd also be happy to buy as separates, and separates might be better for items you carry in stock. But perhaps you could also make the set available as one product for an SF-exclusive pre-order or something similar?
All that said, the longer balmacaan also seems necessary, if only to meet the obvious demand. (And there's a very good chance I'd sell one of my balmacaans to give my closet space for a new one, so I'm also persuaded by this necessity.) But to me that would just be what you do every year + 5 inches, whereas a full 3-piece suit would be something new yet still comfortably within your repertoire.
