A timely question! We expect to have a couple of the smallest sizes back into stock early next week.

Slowly but surely, the wheels turn on ...

We've finally begun photographing recently made garments on actual human beings.

The proof, below: the v-neck, trench coat in woollen Bedford cord, and the work jacket in heavy corduroy.

Both colours — back in stock, now, in small sizes, and in minuscule quantity.

We also have a colour not listed on the site. It is similar to https://www.sehkelly.com/crewneck-in-lambswool-tuck-stitch-in-admiral-blue/ but a mix of dark navy and dark grey. The effect is more muted and with less evident contrast in the stitch. We have this colour in size S only.

The field coat came back this week, in a couple of new colours of canopy cotton.

    field-coat-canopy-cotton-soot-4.jpg field-coat-canopy-cotton-dark-navy-2.jpg field-coat-canopy-cotton-dark-navy-5.jpg field-coat-canopy-cotton-soot-9.jpg field-coat-canopy-cotton-dark-navy-7.jpg field-coat-canopy-cotton-dark-navy-17.jpg

It’s the one with umpteen features that up its suitability in the field — such as poaching trout, though other activities are available. These include the belt, which runs in a channel hidden under the flaps of the pockets, and which can be removed and stashed in a pocket (perhaps with said trout) also itself hidden in the back lining panel.

The new parka is being made in the cloth, and the same colours, plus dark green. Imagine the above, but longer, and with a hood, and you’d be 75% of the way there.

... and speaking of the new parka (as I was ten days ago) — here are a couple of photographs of it, and in particular its vertiginous front.

I hope to have them online by the end of the week.

And your peacoat continues to treat me well in the cold Chicago weather. I absolutely love the collar.

Not quite healthy, still incredibly tired, but back to functional, which is great news. :)

Yessir — they are now made, in all sizes, and are due to arrive at the workshop later this week.

On an unrelated note, here are few additional photographs of our pioneering "things being worn" series. More to come, I hope.

    Nope, no plans for that.

I don't readily think of balmacaans as belted coats.

More than that, though, we try to make belts an optional thing — so, with the trench, there are no belt loops, and the belt runs in a channel hidden under the pocket flap. If the wearer really doesn't like the belt, they can remove it and still wear the trench without so much as a hint to the outside world than there's anything absent about it. Same goes for the field coat (the belt channel is the pocket itself) and the parka (the belt runs into a slot hidden under the pocket flap).

With the balmacaan, there's no obvious solution to this challenge of design. I never say never, but it's unlikely.
