Now I’m curious which fabric will be used for a potential Ulster. Can’t have two balmacaans!
We're planning to make the balmacaan with Herdwick tweed this year, but also funnily enough the work jacket in another organic, heritage, regional all-one-breed-of-sheep woollen from one of the Scottish islands — not as heavy as the Herdwick (which is of benefit to the work jacket) but still very much in the same wheelhouse.

Nice! I assume you mean that amazing 28 oz stuff that the last ones came in.

The colors this year will be different, I assume?

Yep — same cloth, but likely darker, more subdued colours in our favourite brown-to-grey spectrum. Always packing plenty of Donegal punch, however, with neps and burrs galore.

Here are some photographs from the topsy-turvy world ¹²³⁴⁵ of the engineer jacket, which we released a week or so ago.

¹ Inside-out cotton Bedford cord
² Reverse Magyar sleeve construction
³ Pockets spanning entire width of front and side-body
⁴ No collar, which I always find unsettling given personal affection for collars
⁵ Body lining which is entirely unnecessarily dramatic

Hello all, I have a Trench coat in Herdwick tweed light sheep for sale, size S. It's gotten a couple wears, but otherwise in pristine condition. Photos attached, with size chart from the SEH Kelly website.

Asking $1000 shipped within CONUS, DM if interested!

Hi @sehkelly . Do you have any plans next season for a navy overcoat, and if so, do you have an idea of what type?

Thanks in advance!

I have to say the Balmacaan in Hopsack tweed is doing a great job in North West England (-5 today).

I’m only posting this as I know Paul and Sarah have no more scarfs this winter. I found a scarf from Mourne Textiles who produce the cloth for the Balmacaan and the rust goes really well with the Bracken coat. If anyone is interested it’s available here:

https://mournetextiles.com/products/tweed-emphasize-scarf-rust-narrow

Here’s a temporary image I’ll be removing at some point (as I’m shy ☺️).
That scarf is magnificent. I thought the name was familiar; we have been looking at Mourne for furnishing fabrics. Their stuff is beautiful.

Has the fabric for the polo been narrowed down?

edit: I meant the polo coat. In case people thought I meant the shirt.

Just in case someone here missed the current Anoraks second iteration in size XS.

I still have a like-new black size XS Anorak from the first run listed in the classifieds.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
