do u have this coat with real photo? i mean customer photos, not photosession ?

I don't, sorry to say ... but there have been many posted on this forum over the years, and probably likewise the websites of some shops in Japan (you could try "seh kelly balmacaan site:jp" albeit the coats will be varying lengths).

A balmy 39°F this morning in the Tampa Bay Area so just cool enough for some warm layers (at least until later in the day).

If an Ulster in the blue Donegal (Large) magically appears I would greatly appreciate a nudge.

During a recent trip to New York City, I received as many as three or four compliments a day on my SEH Kelly trench coat. It was wild. I never receive such compliments in Canada, and I couldn’t tell if people just could not appreciate it or if the Canadian constitution was against giving unsolicited compliments. After this trip, I think it is the latter; it made me think of this adage (which I may be misquoting): “Canadians are nice without necessarily being kind; Americans are kind without necessarily being nice.”

Great to hear the trench drew so much admiration.

If Canadians are nice without necessarily being kind, and Americans kind without necessarily being nice ... then maybe the English are neither necessarily nice nor necessarily kind but always unnecessarily polite (I don't think I've ever once had a compliment in public, for shame and anguish.)

Sure — we have the engineer jacket in inside-out cotton Bedford cord, the gansey in superfine lambswool, the boatneck in Welsh wool (think Herdwick in knitted form) and the waistcoat in Herdwick tweed.
These are still on their way (except the waistcoat, which I see has arrived), right? I saw the gansey on the website and initially thought it had already sold out but now I have hope.

Last time I missed the gansey and got the crewneck instead and I have been loving it. It’s so incredibly warm.

The ganseys are being made achingly slowly, but I hope more will be released next week.

The engineer jacket is more or less finished and will be released in January.

But alas knitting of the boatneck has come to a standstill because of a shortage of the yarn, but we hope to resume in January, though that feels optimistic.

Thank you very much, as always.

I really like the idea of the pockets on the gansey. I didn’t notice them if they were included on any previous versions.

The engineer jacket will be interesting to see with the reversed Bedford. I admired the cotton panama version on the site for a long time but I wasn’t confident about how I would wear it.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
