Are the work jackets ever going to return in heavy corduroy? While I find the trucker interesting, the pleats on the front don’t really do it for me. But the work jacket is imo a stone cold classic and I really lament the fact that I did not have the funds when I had the opportunity to get it in cord

I never say never, but there's no plans for that, sorry to say.

More likely the work jacket will appear in another cloth, less thick, such as a cotton panama or similar. No plans on that front either, but within the next 12 months seems reasonable.

Hi thanks for the response.
Is it the navy that we see in the additional pictures below or will it be darker?

It is darker than that, and more "navy" — whereas the one in those photographs is a mix of navy and dark grey yarns, the new one is a mix of navy and dark navy, and with a different range of coloured flecks.

Good morning Paul,

I take advantage of this "outerwears to come" apparté. I'm curious about the british warm and the sheep-shade you mentionned earlier. Is sheep-shade a natural kind of colour? Maybe some brown shade?

Sheep shade is mid ...

This is the Herdwick tweed but the cloth for the British Warm is much the same shade (maybe slightly lighter in colour for both shades). But it is a hopsack rather than a plain, and is less gnarly than the Herdwick.

There's also the peacoat which will be made in exactly that Herdwick tweed. It arrived the other day from the boatshed in Scotland and is gnarly through and through.

A few photographs, only about six months overdue, of the field jacket in cavalry twill.

Certainly among the most space-age of the styles here at the workshop, and none the worse for it.

Interesting fact: it has no armhole seams. And the body seams that it does have, which moonlight as armhole seams and sometimes trick the eye into thinking they actually are armhole seams, run down the front of the body, with the little pleat of the chest pocket sitting exactly on top of it.

We're currently developing a safari jacket which will be a completely different execution of a quite similar idea (long jacket, four pocket front, drawstring / belted waist / fly front, gusset at back).

Paul,

Do you have any more information on the safari jacket that you can share? Things like what cloth it will be made from, color(s) and maybe a timeline?
