New to nice denim, and wearing a selvage pair a lot with minimal washes, no fades yet.

What would happen if I bought a new pair of jeans and ran 20 miles in them, then washed them? Would I get nice fades around the knees and anywhere else they flexed? Has anyone tried this?

"Nice fades around the knees" are for the kids and running in jeans is for Martin Riggs.

Denim fades more from abrasion than from flexion.

Not sure, but I'd like to see your results. I think you'll need 100 miles or more for fades to show up.

the issue is that after running in them, you'll need to wash them...lol
